Below are three easy steps to custom trip planning with AdventureSmith Explorations.
During your initial consultation with our Custom Trip Adventure Coordinators we will discuss the feasibility of the program you wish to craft or charter vessel you seek. Be prepared to provide as much detail as possible about what you want. Information we need includes travel dates and length of tour, number of travelers and ages of each traveler, type of accommodations or vessel you desire, level of activity, destinations you wish to visit, experiences you are looking for etc. Be prepared to discuss your travel budget. We will share, free of charge, our detailed knowledge of destinations and trip components such as vessels or accommodations, meals, transfers, activities, guides and more. Based on this consultation we will suggest draft itineraries or charter vessels that meet you needs and budget. If you like our suggestions and wish to proceed we move to the next step.
If, based on the initial consultation, we have arrived at a suitable itinerary or charter vessel, you will authorize us to proceed with a $100 custom trip planning fee. This is a good faith non refundable deposit that will be applied towards the price of the trip, once it is confirmed. Once the custom trip planning fee is received we will check availability to confirm that the trip or charter is available. If available we will place the arrangements on hold and present you with a final itinerary and final price. If we have captured the essence of the trip you are looking for you can choose to confirm the trip with the full deposit. If you decide that the itinerary requires further modification or if the trip is not available we will revise the itinerary and return it to you for review.
Once the custom itinerary has been confirmed and placed on hold we require completed reservation forms and a full deposit in order to book it. The deposit can vary depending on the trip or charter, however it usually averages $500 per traveler. Charter vessels often have cancellation policies that are different from our standard terms and conditions. We will notify you of charter cancellation policies at the time of booking. Once the deposit is received we will secure the custom travel arrangements and mail you our adventure preparation materials. The Custom Trip Adventure Coordinator with whom you booked your trip, will continue to work with you ensuring you are well prepared for the journey.
