Sustainability at Arenal Manoa Lodge
Arenal Manoa Lodge was awarded the Certification for Tourism Sustainability in 2013; a program led by the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism that evaluates and certifies the efforts of companies for sustainable development in environmental, social, economic and cultural criteria. The lodge is carbon neutral, with efforts made to reduce consumption of water, gas, fuels, fossils and electric power, as well as special efforts in solid waste management. Tree planting is part of this plan. Organic fertilizers and biological pest controls are used in the gardens, reducing the use of chemical substances by more than 90%. The staff members at Arenal Manoa Lodge participate in the social development of nearby communities, in areas such as health, education, public safety and the environment.

The iterior and exterior spaces at Arenal Manoa Lodge are optimized for constant views of the Arenal Volcano. The lodge is finished with fine wood throughout to create a tasteful, natural ambiance. The lodge offers a business area with a computer and high-speed internet access, Wi-Fi, an onsite restaurant, conference room, gift shop, common area fireplace, game room complete with pool table, library, luxurious pools (including a kid’s pool) and natural hot spring-fed Jacuzzis, walking trails, laundry service and tour desk. The onsite spa invites guests to relax with Swedish and hot stone massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and various body and facial treatments. Families may enjoy a visit to the nearby Costa Rican farm, with opportunities to observe cows, horses, birds, chickens, sheep and pigs, and even milk a cow.

Arenal Manoa, built in contemporary ranch style, has 12 junior suites, 1 luxurious master suite and 6 standard doubles that can collectively accommodate up to 42 guests. Each room offers two queen beds, air conditioning, satellite television, telephone, private bathroom with hot water and a hairdryer, refrigerator, coffee maker, safe deposit box and a terrace with a view of the volcano.
