Day 1

Embark Sitka, Alaska

2024: Explore beautiful Sitka, considered by many to be one of the most picturesque communities in the Last Frontier. The expedition team will highlight the community’s history—from its inspiring Tlingit roots to the Russian presence that began in 1799. Beautiful totem poles adorn public areas and the Sitka National Historical Park, while the famous St. Michael’s cathedral stands in the center of the downtown district. Be charmed by the island-studded waterfront, rugged mountain peaks of Baranof Island, and abundant bald eagles and marine life. Embark the ship in the late afternoon.

Day 2

Chatham Strait & Lynn Canal

Voyage through Chatham Strait and Lynn Canal en route to the northern end of the Inside Passage. These areas are well known for some of the best wildlife viewing in the region. The waters are home to humpback whales, orcas, Steller sea lions and Dall’s porpoises, while brown and black bears, wolves, moose and Sitka black-tailed deer roam the shorelines. This is a day of True Alaska discovery and adventure that may include kayaking, a remote beach landing via the expedition skiffs, or other activities determined by the captain and expedition team.

Day 3

Skagway

Stroll the boardwalks of the rollicking Klondike gold rush town of Skagway while enjoying its unique history. In the late 19th century, thousands of crazed gold seekers poured into the community en route to the Klondike. Wooden buildings, streets and docks were constructed in mere months. Skagway was rambunctious, lawless and tormented by a notorious con man named Soapy Smith. Today, historic businesses, frontier homes and museums bring the spirit of the gold rush to life. Aboard the White Pass and Yukon Route railroad, enjoy a journey retracing the steps of goldseekers into Canada. Built in 1898, the railroad climbs nearly 3,000 feet in 20 miles and offers stunning wilderness views.

Day 4

Wilderness Bay & Orca Point Lodge

Venture into one of the many intimate coves or inlets of the Chilkat Peninsula or Admiralty Island, such as an exclusive property at William Henry Bay. Enjoy kayak and skiff exploration in the heart of Alaska’s wilderness. End the day’s adventure with a relaxing evening at Orca Point Lodge, a private day-lodge on Colt Island. Enjoy the beautiful grounds, beach and marine life touch-tank. Dine on Alaska salmon, Alaska crab (subject to availability) or prime rib from the warmth of the lodge or nestled next to a beachside bonfire.

Glacier Bay National Park

This remarkable national park fjord extends 65 miles; contains eight tidewater glaciers; and provides pristine habitat for a wide-array of wildlife including both brown and black bears, wolves, mountain goats, Steller sea lions and humpback whales. The highlight for many is the Margerie Glacier, which is known for its dramatic calving displays.

Payment & Cancellation

In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of 15% of the total trip cost is required per person at time of booking. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Special holiday payment and cancellation terms may apply. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Standard cancellations are subject to the following per-person fees, based on number of days prior to departure:
Up to 120 days – 50% of deposit
119 to 90 days – 100% of deposit
89 to 45 days – 50% of total trip cost
44 to 0 days – 100% of total trip cost

2024: The main North to True Alaska Expedition Cruise begins in Sitka, Alaska (SIT), and ends in Juneau, Alaska (JNU). We highly recommend arriving one day prior to your trip start date in case of any flight delay, cancellation or lost luggage issues. Plan flights to arrive to Sitka on Day 1 in time for a 12:00pm meeting with expedition leaders at the hospitality room for a city tour ahead of the 4:00pm embarkation time. Disembarkation is at 8:00am on Day 6; plan flights to depart Juneau no earlier than 10:00am.

Whether you are looking for light activity options or more challenging outdoor pursuits, the ship’s crew can tailor most any expedition to suit your skill level. Adventure activities may include a railway tour, whale watching, kayaking, shallow-water expedition craft excursions, land treks, glacier viewing, wildlife observation and a remote beach campfire experience.

Room Configuration

Single supplement rates are 150% of the double occupancy rate. Single supplement rates are capacity controlled and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Third and fourth guests booking into a stateroom will receive a 15% discount after 2 full-price guests or after 1 full-price adult and 1 discounted child are booked.

Families & Children

Children (15 and under) receive 15% off double occupancy rate when sharing a cabin with 1 or 2 full fare adults. Programming is tailored for children ages 7 and up.
