Choose the Sea Cloud II: Lindblad if you are seeking an enchanting ship with plenty of space for socializing and personal time. Step back in time on this vessel modeled after the legendary Sea Cloud, which was constructed in 1931 for Marjorie Merriweather Post and also sails under National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions as Sea Cloud: Lindblad. Enjoy the thrill of cruising under sail, which the ship’s crew explains on Day 1, and which they endeavor to do whenever the weather allows.

Design

Sea Cloud II: Lindblad barque carries three masts with 23 total sails. She offers plenty of room to spread out with over 384 feet from bow to stern and wide passageways. And her engineering and materials make her very efficient when under wind power, with novel metal in the yards, special plastics in the rigging and sails, and above-average sizing of her masts and sails.

Common Areas & Activities

The elevated, segmented Sun Deck is a popular place to lounge on daybeds or in comfortable reclining teak chairs, with both sunny and shaded spaces. An open bridge invites travelers to meet the captain and crew, and learn the ins and outs of navigating Sea Cloud II: Lindblad.

The Lido Deck features a library stocked with reference materials that reflect the cultures, landscapes and wildlife through which Sea Cloud II: Lindblad sails. The library also offers board games and a computer with WiFi.

The Promenade Deck houses the boutique, staffed reception area and an elegant aft dining room. Finally, the Cabin Deck is equipped with a few guest amenities including a small gym with sauna and spa (with added-cost massage and beauty treatments on offer), and the medical room. The gym offers a treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, elliptical trainer and weights. And a morning stretch class is offered out on the Lido Deck, daily.

Sea Cloud II: Lindblad comes equipped for both on-ship relaxation and off-ship adventure. A fleet of Zodiacs enable shore landings and tow the ship’s inflatable water toy. A large swim platform enables jumps and dives directly into the sea, weather permitting. And snorkel equipment provides access to underwater wildlife.

Dining Aboard

The Sea Cloud II: Lindblad’s restaurant provides open seating for couples and groups of four, six and eight. The Lido Deck offers an occasional al fresco luncheon, afternoon tea or evening barbecue, complimented by the sea breeze. The Lido Bar also hosts daily sunset cocktails. Breakfast is served buffet style, with eggs to order. Lunch and dinner are a la carte, with a menu of both Continental cuisine and regional favorites that are a joy to pair with a selection from the ship’s fine wines.
