History

In operation since 1965, the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage works to preserve its historic architecture and ambiance, enabling its membership in the organization of Historic Hotels of America. Guests will appreciate the property’s meticulously maintained stained glass, paintings, woodwork and sculptures—all of which pay homage to the explorer and cartographer who helped map and catalog the State of Alaska. These works comprise the private art collection at Hotel Captain Cook; walking tours are available to guests.

Dining

Hotel Captain Cook features four restaurants and an espresso bar, ensuring a dining experience to suit every guest’s needs. The Crow’s Nest, a AAA four-diamond fine dining restaurant, offers floor-to-ceiling windows for views of the Anchorage skyline, Cook Inlet and Chugach Mountains. The sommelier is ready to provide recommendations from over 10,000 bottles of wine in the cellar, to pair with the gourmet menu’s French and New American fare.

Fletcher’s offers Italian food in an English-style pub. The Pantry dining room provides made-to-order breakfast in a casual setting. And The Cubby is a café with on-the-go food options, specialty coffees, beer and wine.
